Pedro Rivera works in Rio de Janeiro, exploring architecture as a space where design, curatorship, and education converge. Over the past 25 years, he has built a practice that moves between scales and disciplines, seeking both critical depth and a sense of openness to the city and its transformations.
He is co-founder of RUA Arquitetos and founder of PDRV, and has collaborated with Columbia University’s GSAPP as director and curator of Studio-X Rio and later as Adjunct Assistant Professor. His work and research have been presented at institutions such as MoMA, MAK Vienna, and MAM São Paulo, and in the Venice, Chicago, and São Paulo biennials.
Pedro’s projects—ranging from the Rio 2016 Golf Clubhouse and the Ver-o-Peso Market renovation to community-based cultural spaces in Rio’s favelas—reflect a continuous negotiation between architecture, territory, and social imagination.
